By 2030, the global job market is expected to add a net 78 million jobs, with technology dominating but 39 per cent of existing skills changing or becoming obsolete. The convergence of technological skills (e.g. AI and Big Data) with soft human skills (e.g. creative thinking) will be in core demand. The roundtable will focus on the emerging skills (e.g. IoT, AI, big data analytics) and traditional career transformation paths needed for the development of smart cities, and discuss how the education system can use AI technology to cultivate composite talents adapted to the needs of future cities, and promote the cities to build a talent eco-system adapted to the smart era.
